Within “The Palestinian Consortium for Non-violence: towards a regional movement on Non-violence”, project and in partnership with Pal-Think for strategic studies FXB France, the Jerusalem Center for Social and Economic Rights (JCSER) implemented the “No to bullying” initiative, which targeted families and students in the Jerusalem in general. The initiative aims to highlight the practices and types of bullying, which are considered aggression and persecution and have psychological, social and educational negative side-effects.

The initiative also addressed the causes of the increasing rates of bullying and how to cope with it and disseminate the culture of tolerance and respect for the other through an awareness bulletin prepared by the Center’s team in cooperation with a psychologist and social worker, and its electronic circulation to schools and follow-up with social workers in schools. It was also distributed in Jerusalem schools, civil society institutions, family centres, municipalities and other places frequented by citizens.

The “No to bullying” initiative also published a video on peaceful tools against bullying and their impact on society, including the establishment of good communication between children and parents. Besides,  developing school laws to combat bullying. The video was published via the webpages, the centre page and sharing the film with many civil society organizations.

These campaigns have a major impact on society as they are accessible to all groups, and the “No to bullying” initiative has been welcomed by Jerusalem schools and social workers and has become incorporated into various educational programs in schools. In turn, the Center continues to contribute to activities that promote a culture of non-violence. Besides,  tolerance and acceptance of the other, especially in the city of Jerusalem, which has its own and diverse religions.
