In cooperation with Women Centre – Amari Refugee Camp, Nafs for Empowerment concluded a training course entitled “Alternatives to Violence”. This activity comes within the activities of “The Palestinian Consortium for Non-violence: towards a regional movement on Non-violence” project implemented by Pal-Think for Strategic Studies and FXB-France.
Nasser Mattar, trainer, led this course which chiefly focused on discussing the alternatives to violence practiced against women in emergency cases in Amari refugee camp.
This activity was an eye-opening training around what violence is, its forms, causes, methods of how to change violent behaviors into peaceful ones and scientific alternatives for non-violent attitude.
Following the training course, participating women enjoyed acquiring new information about how non-violent actions can contribute in both reducing the psychological pressure and confronting the COVID-19.
Not only did the training build on the communication skills of the participants, but it also gave them a space to discuss how to cope with violence forms especially during the pandemic time as cases of violence dramatically increase.
The activity is executed as to publicize the culture of non-violence as a lifestyle. Pal-Think for Strategic Studies in partnership with FXB-France work closely to empower women, confront violence and create an opportunity for youth in the Palestinian society.
