Under the umbrella of Pal-Think for Strategic studies, Maram Abu Harbeed, succeeded in conducting her first session entitled ” Enhancing the language of dialogue within university students and graduates”. Interestingly, Maram is a graduate of “The Benefits of Non-Violence as a Culture and Instrument for Conflict Resolution” project which basically aims at instilling nonviolence culture and all the related healthy concepts within Palestinian society.
The session was opened by a word delivered by Maram who spoke about the project’s targeted goals. She continued to speak further about violence and its causes through exciting narration of many youth experiences. Maram confirmed the need to dialogue as a tool which enables our community to overcome violence and its disastrous impacts. Participants carefully listened to the trainer while speaking about ways to master dialogue so as they could avoid problems and disputes. They mutually spoke about methods to spread this thriving culture within their society in general and university environment in particular. One of the beneficial activities that were held was imitating a dialogue between university students and staff on an issue, such as decreasing fees.
Finally, this session was genuinely energetic and simply reflected the culture of respect and listening to others’ points of view.
