Trainees of “The Benefits of Non-Violence as a culture and Instrument for Conflict Resolution” Project continued to contribute and play an effective role in their community by implementing 25 educational and awareness-raising initiatives, under Pal-Think’s supervision, in cooperation with several institutions in all governorates of the Gaza Strip. The second initiative was implemented by Ibrahim Abu Elyan and Ahmed Ahmed in Khanyounis, the Southern area of the Gaza Strip. It was entitled “Promoting Nonviolence Culture within Mothers and their Children”; and it targeted mainly mothers so as they could recognize nonviolence culture and practices and be able to instill them within their children.
The workshop aimed at raising awareness of female participants about the true definitions of violence and nonviolence, including its forms, methods and skills. It also geared towards promoting nonviolent practices among mothers and their children as well as the society. The implementers followed the narrative way in delivering these thoughts thoroughly.
Finally, participants were genuinely satisfied with nonviolence culture and tolerance and peace practices. They promised to watch themselves and be more open to listen and dialogue with their children. They added how similar sessions are extremely useful for mothers; they asked for more educational ones to help them bring their children up even more properly.
