Under the umbrella of Pal-Think, “The Benefits of Non-Violence as a Culture and Instrument for Conflict Resolution”; project trainees planned to implement 25 educational and awareness-raising initiatives in cooperation with institutions in all governorates of the Gaza Strip. The first initiative was felicitously implemented by Raneen Al-Za’aneen in Beithanoon, the Northern area of the Gaza Strip. It was entitled “Disseminating nonviolence culture within kids”; and included many educational activities so as children could absorb nonviolence concept and be able to portray and apply it in their life.
The workshop aimed at promoting nonviolence and tolerance within children. It also tended to direct children to deal with the problems they face in a nonviolent way and enhance self-confidence and communication skills within them. Many feasible and exciting activities were held in which kids were interactive and able to perceive and move their thoughts.
Finally, kids were perfectly responsive and cooperative. They were jubilant after drawing and expressing what they were thinking of. Children themselves asked to implement similar activities. Besides, mothers and teachers asked for holding more workshops in order to genuinely spread nonviolence culture.
